Simple Stamped Cards – 2 Different Versions

Need the perfect solution for making simple stamped cards? I’ve got a lovely basic card plus stepped up versions that are also easy to DIY. These are perfect ideas for beginners, as well as “seasoned” card makers as I will also show how easy it is to STEP UP your simple cards!

Artistically Inked is the perfect stamp set for all occasions and creating fun, bold cards. Today I have 2 types of cards to share–SIP (stamps, ink & paper) as well as the STEPPED UP versions.

Simple stamped cards begin with rubber stamps that are easy to use like the Artistically Inked by Stampin' Up!

I just love the “watercolor look” of these stamps–especially the “blotch” stamp for the background. No more struggling trying to make a watercolor wash-type background. Enjoy the video and post today. As always, I share many stamping tips as we make the cards.

Simple Stamped Cards

Are you ready to learn how to make these simple cards? The video is filled with tips to help you learn to create quick and easy cards, without all the overwhelm and stress! Card-making is fun and relaxing, especially when you keep it simple!

I also have tips to show you how easy it is to “step it up” a bit my simply just adding some layers and a little cutting! When you add dimension to your cards, it takes it from “simple” to “wow!”

I hope you enjoyed these fun simple cards. The whole idea of “SIP STAMPING” and then stepping it up shows that you don’t need a lot of products to make beautiful hand-made cards.

How Do You Make a Simple Stamped Card?

Let’s start with the SIP CARDS. These are made just using stamps, ink and paper. These are great beginner card maker projects. Remember, we start with a “SIP” and learn the basics first. Then, it is so easy to “step them up!”

Need a quick birthday card? Try these simple stamped cards design.

For these first cards, I used Stampin’ Up! Note Cards. The front of these cards is 5″ x 3 1/2″ and is the perfect size for these big bold stamps. You could add any greeting on them to make a card for any occasion. For these I used the “greetings” that came in the Artisitcially Inked stamp set, but depending on what kind of card you need, just add a different greeting!

Stepped Up Cards

Add a little card stock and cut out your images with the coordinating dies (or scissors) and it’s so easy to step it up! These are still SIP cards because the only thing used is stamps, ink, and paper! (plus scissors!)

These simple stamped cards are stepped up a little with a layer of black cardstock behind the stamped panel.

Card Measurements

  • Basic White Card Base: 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″
  • White layer: 3 3/4″ x 5″
  • Basic Black layer: 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″
  • Scrap of Basic White for cut-out images

NOTE – some of the colors used for these cards are now retired and will not show in the supply list. You could use any colors to create these beautiful cards – use the ones you have, or grab some new ones!

Whether your simple stamped cards are single layer stamped florals or layered with cardstock your cards will be beautiful!

See the difference that just a couple of layers of card stock can make? Play around with your stamps, ink, and paper and see what you can create!

      • I love all that you share! It is souch fun to stamp using your ideas. I do have a hard time seeing your videos with the large host code and the light green strip. Could they be a bit smaller?

        • I’m glad you like the cards I share Donna! I’m not sure exactly what you’re talking about because I don’t have the host code in my video. Are you talking about the banner of my website? If so you should just be able to scroll down on the page before you click to play the video. If you are watching on a phone or tablet try turning your device in landscape view and that may help but some principle there too…scroll down before you hit the play button or click the word “youtube’ in the lower right corner of the video and that will take you to YouTube to watch and perhaps that will be easier for you.
