Are you new to card making and looking for some basic stamping designs for starters that do not require a lot of supplies and products? Well… you are in the right place!! Or, if you’re an experienced card maker and looking for some simple stamping designs, you’re also in the right place!
I love teaching basic stamping techniques and getting crafters started with my proven method of SIP stamping. So let’s stamp with a SIP – STAMPS, INK, and PAPER! That is all you need to get started making your beautiful handmade cards.
Today I’ll be teaching you these easy SIP card designs using the Stampin’ Up! stamp set Bottled Happiness, and we’ll also be using the stamp set Go To Greetings so that we can make these cards for any occasion.
Stamp With A SIP Video
In this video, I’ll share how to create cards using just stamps, ink, and paper. We even keep it super simple by using pre-cut note cards & envelopes so you don’t have to cut your card bases. And then, I’ll show you how easy it is to “step up” your card with a couple of cardstock layers.
The products used in this video were available for purchase at the time of filming (the list is below.) If something does not show in the list, it is either retired or no longer available.
Bottled Happiness Card Details
Here are the first three cards we made in the video, a progression from the basic SIP card to adding more cardstock layers. What’s fun about the Bottled Happiness stamp set is that you can easily use any ink colors to personalize the flowers. You’ll find my full list of supplies below for the colors used here, and don’t forget we used my favorite Note Cards & Envelopes to help keep it simple.
Measurements:
Card 1: SIP (left)
- Card Base: Basic White Note Card
Card 2: SIP with 2 layers (top)
- Card Base: Basic White Note Card

- Basic White: 3″ x 4 1/2″
Card 3: SIP with 1 layer (bottom)

- Score at 3 1/2″ to make 3 1/2″ x 5″ notecard

And don’t forget to stamp the inside of the card and the envelope to match!
Below is the final card that we made in the video. These were made following the same SIP stamping and measurements listed above. In the video, I shared a fun and easy tip on how to get that texture on the vase stamp. Here’s a hint… you don’t need any special supplies, just another stamp! Make sure to watch the video for this simple stamping technique.
