It’s Absolutely OK to Join For the Discount – I Did!
I first discovered stamping and card-making in 1995. A friend invited me to a woman’s group at church who were getting together to “stamp.” I thought – stamp? What is that? But since I was a mom with young kiddos, any chance to get out of the house I jumped on!
I went to the group and got my fingers “inky” for the very first time. And I was hooked! I was in love with this new hobby and went on a huge buying spree at the craft stores. And then….. I discovered Stampin’ Up! I instantly fell in love with the coordinating products, especially the stamp sets. And, being the savvy shopper that I was, I jumped right in and bought the STARTER KIT so that I could get a discount on Stampin’ Up! products.
My Reasons For Joining
I am often asked why I joined Stampin’ Up! way back in 1995. As I mentioned above, initially it was because I wanted all the products and the discount. Never ever did I imagine I would still be a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator today sharing with others my love of stamping! But as I look back, there really were more reasons why I joined…..
- I had young children and really need an opportunity to get out of the house!
- I was a new stamper, so becoming a demonstrator gave me access to learn more about stamping and card making!
- I quickly realized it was more about the “people” and less about the “stamps.” We say it all the time, it’s about the relationships. But the relationships have come to be because of the silly little rubber stamps! Today, all of my best friends I have met because I joined Stampin’ Up! so many years ago!
But…. it is so different today! When I joined, there was no internet, so it was harder to access information & ideas. We had to get out of the house to connect with others. (maybe these things were a good thing?) But, thinking about it in “today’s world,” I would do it again in a heartbeat… These are the reasons why I would join today if I wasn’t already a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator
