Welcome to Class 7 of our Card Making 101 series! So far, we’ve learned about stamps, ink, and paper, and started creating cards the easy way with kits and Mix & Match products. Now, it’s time to take the next step: Stamping and designing your own handmade cards! For a beginner card maker the best technique is to start with a SIP – Stamps, Ink, & Paper. These three essentials are all you need to create simple yet beautiful cards without overwhelming yourself with supplies. SIP cards are a favorite of mine because they’re quick, easy, and incredibly versatile. Ready to get started? Don’t forget to download our free inspiration sheet below for SIP card ideas designed with four different stamp sets!
In class 7 of our Card Making 101 series, you’ll learn to start with a SIP by:

Card Making 101, Class 7
In this video class, I (Jackie, an experienced card maker) teach Jesi (my daughter, a beginner card maker) everything she needs to know to start with a SIP to make beautiful handmade cards . We hope that if you’re also a beginner card maker you can learn alongside Jesi and build your knowledge and confidence as she does.
Some of the supplies used in this video may have retired since the class was filmed. If you don’t see something in the online store, it means it’s no longer available. The good news is—the stamping techniques you’ll learn work with any stamps, ink, and paper you have or choose!
There’s a lot more information shared in the video class than what’s written below. So make sure to give it a watch to learn everything you need to know about stamping with a SIP!

Start With A SIP – Stamps, Ink, & Paper

Stamping with a SIP is a simple yet effective way to create beautiful, handmade cards! Here are the products we used and the cards we made in the video class. Didn’t Jesi do such a great job?! It was fun to see how her confidence grew in such a short time while stamping one card. As you can see, it doesn’t take many products to get started.
If you’re a beginner card maker, start with one stamp set you like. There are so many great ones to choose from, so find something that you will enjoy creating with. And then maybe grab a simple sentiment stamp set while you’re at it, so you can make cards for all occasions.
The Cheerful Daisies stamp set is retired; however, there are many others that you can use and still follow the instructions in the video.
More Start With A SIP Card Ideas
In the video, I share several other card ideas using the SIP method of stamping. You can see those cards below. Again, these stamp sets may be retired; however, the ideas are timeless. Find other stamps and use the same ideas.
