Card Making 101, Class 6

In this video class, I (Jackie, an experienced card maker) teach Jesi (my daughter, a new card maker) everything she needs to know about Mix & Match card making products. We hope that if you’re also new to making cards you can learn alongside Jesi and build your knowledge and confidence as she does.

There’s a lot more information shared in the video class than what’s written below. So make sure to give it a watch to learn everything you need to know about easy card making for beginners! Below is just quick information about some of the most commonly asked questions about Mix & Match.

Easy Card Making

7 examples from Card Making 101, Class 6, for easy card making using the Stampin' Up! Mix & Match products. Each card has a different printed and colored card base with a different sentiment adhered to it.

To start off our easy card making with Mix & Match products, we created cards using only a sentiment. The thought of only adding a sentiment to your card may seem boring but with beautifully printed designs on the card bases, they’re not! To make this first batch of cards the only products we used were:

  • Mix & Match Cards & Envelopes
  • Saying Something Ephemera Pack (the one with only sentiments)
  • Adhesive of choice (I used Liquid Glue & Stampin’ Dimensionals)

After only using one ephemera pack for our Mix & Match card making, we then stepped it up a little by adding in two more ephemera packs. This is when the fun and creativity really began! To make these designs I punched out a lot of pieces and truly mixed and matched them around to create small scenes and collages that I liked. This second batch of cards was made with the products listed above along with the Something For Everything Ephemera Pack and the Fully Flowering Ephemera Pack.

For this final batch of cards, we added in all the Mix & Match products. So that includes everything listed above, the Labels & Layers Ephemera Pack, and the Simply Said Stamp Set. Same as the second batch of cards, I mixed and matched pieces to create different collages. The difference between these two batches is that this set of cards includes stamping! Each one has a stamped sentiment from the Simply Said Stamp Set on a piece from the Labels & Layers Ephemera Pack.

I hope this shows you the progression of how easy card making can be using the Mix & Match products! I love creating with the Ephemera Packs – they’re so fun, easy, and make beautiful cards.
