I kept the stamping simple, which is perfect to create a quick card to put in the mail to someone who needs it.

In my video, I also share how to make the “messy bow” with the silver cord that is under the greeting plus a few other stamping tips that I am sure will help you with all your card making.

I used the same card recipe (measurements) for both of my Words of Encouragement Cards.

  • THICK Basic White card base: 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″
  • Basic White layer: 3 1/4″ x 4 1/2″
  • Black: 3 3/8″ x 4 5/8″

Why Always “Eighths”?

I am often asked why I always use “eighths” when cutting my layers. It’s a personal preference. I like the smaller border but if you prefer a larger border bump up the measurements I gave by 1/8″ to get to the next 1/4″.

So, for this one, you would cut your black layer: 3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″

In the video I had the larger piece and I show how they look different.

    • I’m so glad you like the card ideas I share. Yes…the retreat will be so fun—great if you can join live but the beauty of it is you’ll be able to watch it all even if you can’t attend live.

    • I’m sorry Sandy, I’m not sure what card you are referring to. This post is all on the ‘Strong of Heart’ stamp set. Having said that, whatever card you are looking at, look in the blog post and there will be a supply list for you.
