Ready to celebrate a special birthday? I’m going to show you how to make a DIY gift bag topper for birthday gift that is sure to liven up the celebration!
This is a really fun birthday project with a dual function…..it can either be a birthday card, or turn it into a no peek DIY gift bag topper. This bag topper idea is perfect for not only birthday gifts, but the idea works well this time of year for Christmas packaging as well. You can even grab a card you have already made and turn it into a NO PEEK GIFT BAG TOPPER!!!! This is truly one of my favorite gift packaging ideas that I came up with years and years ago. I love bringing it back almost every year because it’s such a perfect idea, if I do say so myself.

Do you struggle making the tissue paper look pretty in a gift bag??? I know I do and that is why I came up with this idea. No need to use tissue paper and the gift is hidden nicely down inside the bag.

DIY Gift Bag Topper | No Peek Gift Bag Idea
The video is filled with tips today! I start by making a birthday card, then turn that card into the DIY gift bag topper. We are also adding some fun glimmer and glitz to it as well. It’s a super fun and celebratory Birthday gift bag that’s extra special because it will have been made by YOU!
What do you think? Did you like the fun little gift I had inside the bag? It’s perfect to celebrate a special friend on a “BIG” day.

The topper is really a card, just cut to fit over the bag. Here is my recipe:
- Basic Black: 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″
- Bermuda Bay: 5 1/8″ x 3 7/8″
- Basic Black: 5″ x 3 3/4″
- Bermuda Bay DSP: 1″ x 5 1/2″
