This embossed paper really makes the trees “pop” on this cardstock.
Let’s Start with a Video
Today’s short video will show you how this technique is done. You might get a little “inky fingered” but that’s ok–that is part of the fun in card making.
If you are reading this in your email, the video might now show up, so just click below to go to YouTube and watch it. While there, make sure to subscribe so you don’t miss any of my videos!
Experiment with Different Colors
Play around with your embossing folders using different colors of cardstock and ink, plus inking the different sides of the folders. With the TIN TILE folder the look can be completely different depending on which side you ink up!
On this first one I used Smoky Slate cardstock and Basic Gray ink. Give it a little pop of Real Red and what a bold card it makes! Don’t forget to stamp the inside!
On both of these cards I used a die to cut out the THANK YOU. It’s a single die called: THANK YOU THINLITS and you can find it on page 220 of the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog.
Card Recipe:
- Smoky Slate: 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″
- Smoky Slate Layer: 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″, cut down to 3 3/4″ x 5″ AFTER EMBOSSING
- Real Red: 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″
- Inside: Whisper White: 4″ x 5 1/4″
Here is the other thank you card I made:
For this thank you card I used Crumb Cake Cardstock and Soft Suede Ink. The THANK YOU is cut from Early Espresso.
