Today I’m sharing heat embossing fundamentals that are easy to learn + A super cute card!
I have ventured out of my box and I had such a blast making these cards using the WE’LL WALRUS BE FRIENDS stamp set. Â This “flower gal” is getting pretty brave and I must admit, I am enjoying it! Â These guys are just so STINKIN’ CUTE! Â I might just have to admit that this is the most adorable stamp set in the catalog!
I decided today would be the perfect today to combine some techniques and show you some heat embossing fundamentals since I don’t always show you that process in each video and this card also uses some dry embossing, die cuts, and watercoloring. Loads of techniques for this fun card.
Heat Embossing Fundamentals
In the video today I will show you how I watercolored all of these images and also teach you embossing… how to HEAT EMBOSS that is. Heat embossing adds an extra special element to your card and it’s so easy. Â If you follow me, you will know I LOVE to emboss white on black for a dramatic greeting! Â Here’s today’s video filled with lots of tips!

Besides showing you how easy watercoloring is, the video shows you step by step how to heat emboss. Â If this is not something you have done, maybe it’s time to pick up some embossing products and add this fun dimension to your cards. Â Here are the products I used for the heat embossing.

All 3 cards use the same basic products and card recipe:
- Card Base: Â 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ (Balmy Blue or Pacific Point)
- Balmy Blue or Pacific Point Layer: Â 4″ x 5 1/4″
- Watercolor Paper for the image, cut out with the Layering Squares Dies
- Scalloped Layer also cut with Layering Squares Dies
I made the insides just as cut as the outsides!
Card #2
All 3 cards have the layer embossed with the High Seas 3D Embossing Folder

Adorable cards Jackie! I love all of them, but I think my favorite uses the High Seas embossing folder. Thanks for all of the tips.
You’re welcome Pam! Have a great day!
Jackie, all your cards are beautiful. It is always nice to get our of our box. Since last fall with the country home set and the rooster from sale-bration, I have been in a rustic mood.
Looking forward to seeing your designs from the fall holiday catalog. Coming soon?
Enjoy your week:)
Yes Sheila! Stay tuned for lots of ideas. The holiday catalog will debut September so you’ll see ideas being shared before long 🙂
Jackie, Thanks for the great tips. I always learn something new. Although I like all the cards, I think my favorite is card #2. Thanks again for al you do to help promote stamping.
Thanks so much Melinda! I’m so glad that you like that card!!
Pretty darn cute
Thanks Penne! Enjoy your day!!
Like the 3rd one the best. Though they are all cute.
Thanks Kelly! Have a wonderful day!
I’m enjoying your blog. Am getting lots of easy projects to try. Earlier, I think you had some ideas on how to organize your Layering Dies. You had numbered them. Recently, I bought the layering squares and circles and now would like to figure out how to number them so I can tell which ones coordinate by size when ready to use them…such as you used on the walrus cards. Thanks for your input in advance.
The only dies I have numbered are my STITCHED LABELS. Here is the post showing them: https://klompenstampers.com/2019/06/one-of-favorite-new-stamp-sets.html
#2 so cute!
Thanks Janelle! Have a stamp happy day!
These Walrus cards are adorable.
This set is truly a fun one! I loved it more than I thought I would!
