Do you get tired of making the same size card all the time? I’ve got a solution today with a DIY Cardmaking: Size Options and Samples to share! Some of these sizes are available as a package of note card & envelopes, while others I will share how to adapt to different envelope sizes!!! I truly had fun making all these cards using just one stamp set, a couple of inks, and playing around with the different sizes!!!
Today’s post is a fun re-fresher for experienced stampers and a great one for beginning cardmaking too!
DIY Cardmaking: Size Options and Samples
In today’s video I talk about all these different size cards, plus I give lots of tips for stamping these fun flowers using the Abstract Impressions stamp set. I think some of the sized cards I make might be a surprise to you.
If you are reading this in your email, the video might now show up, so just click below to go to YouTube and watch it. While there, make sure to subscribe so you don’t miss any of my videos!
Memories & More Note Cards & Envelopes
The above card is 4 1/4″ x 6 1/4″. Did you know that Stampin’ Up! sells this size? You will find them on page 194 and they are called the LARGE Whisper White Memories & More Cards & Envelopes. They are super nice because they are made from the THICK Whisper White. Perfect if not doing a lot of layering because they are nice and heavy.
These also come in a small size which is 3 1/4″ x 4 1/4″. Both of these come in packs of 10 cards with envelopes.
Square Cards
I love making square cards, but they are hard to find envelopes for. Stampin’ Up! does not sell them and, if you do find them, they will require extra postage! So here is my solution! I make my square cards 4 1/4″ x 4 1/4″. And then, I just stick them in a regular sized envelope. Works perfectly!
Narrow Note Cards & Envelopes
This is another fun size to make. You can not mail these but they are perfect for gift enclosures, or to just give to someone. They measure 2 1/2″ x 4 1/2″. They come in a package of 20 Note Cards & Envelopes!
These work perfectly for a gift card. I simply attached the gift card with a couple of glue dots!
Note Cards & Envelopes
This is the standard sized notecards & envelopes in the catalog. You can get these in either Whisper White or Very Vanilla. They measure 3 1/2″ x 5″
“Letter” Size Card
I am calling this my “letter” size card because I made it to fit a regular letter envelope. Those kind that we buy at any store in a box to send our bills in. Why not use them to send a fun card instead!!! The card measures 3 1/2″ x 6″ and is made from a 7″ x 6″ piece of cardstock!
Long Card
This card measures 4″ x 9 1/4″ and is made to fit into an office envelope. Yep–another size that I bet you have a box of sitting around at home. It’s really a fun and different size to make!
What do you think?
Boy, this got a bit long but I wanted to share all these different size options with you. Do I have you thinking and planning what size you will make next? Make sure to watch the video as I show the insides of each of the cards and give lots to little tips. I would love to hear from you. If you have any questions, or just want to comment, please do so! It’s the highlight of my day reading my blog comments!

Awesome Karen! That’s my goal…to inspire you to try some new things 🙂
Wow! This is great! I recently purchased this stamp set based on another video you did using it. I Had just written a letter to some friends and made the “legal size” card using that for the first time. My friends are a husband/wife pastor couple who were just assigned to a new church, so the “So happy about your happy news” greeting was perfect! Used a navy blue and a dark rose color for the flowers. Looking forward to making the “thank-you” card size next. And of course I decorated the inside and the envelope as well! 🙂
Awesome! I just know they LOVED the card you made them. Have a stamp happy day!
