Diagonal Fold Card Instructions & Inspiration

I’m bringing back a past fun fold card project with some new inspiration! I shared these easy diagonal fold card instructions about a year ago, and I think it’s time to remind ourselves about it again. It’s probably one of the quickest and easiest fun fold cards to make – and it does not require a lot of supplies. I focused on using only DSP to create these cards and then pulled in one stamp to add a small sentiment.

Two diagonal fun fold cards. One is designed with Stampin' Up! Latte Love and the other is designed with Flowering Zinnias.

Both cards pictured above were designed using online exclusive products – so you won’t find them in the catalog. The card on the left was made using A Little Latte DSP and the card on the right was made using Flowering Zinnias DSP. If you don’t have these papers – don’t worry. Just follow along with my easy diagonal fold card instructions while using any of your favorite card making supplies!

Diagonal Fun Fold Card Video Tutorial

Here is the original video tutorial for how to make this diagonal fold. Give it a watch for my easy instructions and quick tips for making the fun fold card. The products shown in this video may no longer be available – but this tutorial is all about how to do the fold!

The products used in this video were available for purchase at the time of filming (the list is below.) If something does not show in the list, it is either retired or no longer available.

Diagonal Fold Card Instructions

To make this diagonal fun fold card, you’re going to start with a full-size sheet of cardstock (8 1/2″ x 11″) and cut it diagonally to create two card bases. To do this, you simply measure down 3 inches on the right side, and up 3″ inches on the left side – then cut with your paper trimmer.

These card bases are then scored at 3″ and 6 3/4″.

The next step is to cut the pieces of Designer Series Paper for each of the panels. Make sure to watch the video to see how I cut the top angle. I have an easy method to share that does not involve measuring! The DSP pieces started out in the following sizes:

  • Right side (inside when folded up): 4″ x 5 1/4″
  • Left side (front when folded up): 2 3/4″ x 3 1/2″
  • Center when folded (backside before folding): 3 1/2″ x 4 1/4″

And then to finish both these cards, I fussy cut out some of the images from the DSP and adhered them on using Stampin’ Dimensionals! Super easy!! For more diagonal fun fold card inspiration, CLICK HERE to see the cards I made last time I shared this fun project!
