Have you ever tried 2 step stamping? It’s a time saving way to make pretty cards and scrapbook pages. These even have the wonderful look of being watercolored but shhhhh….the secret is ours!

What are 2-step stamps? That is a question I am often asked. So, today we are going to make a card where we are coloring with 2-step stamps.

We are using the Hand-Penned Petals stamp set and this 2-step set makes coloring your images easy peasy and quick!

2 step stamping is super simple to do and is a great time saver on these 2 cards I madee.

These cards may look like they took a lot of time and work, but they were truly easy.

2 Step Stamping: The How-to Guide with Tips

Today’s video is pretty short because I want to focus just on how to use 2-step stamps to color with. I show how to create the floral images, then the rest is just layers of cardstock. After watching, make sure to scroll down for all the supplies and cutting dimensions.

Look at these 2 Step Stamping Cards….

2 Step stamping is a key feature of the Stampin' Up! Hand-Penned stamp set.

I made this DIY Thank You card with the 2 step stamping technique.

Card Recipe

  • Fresh Freesia: 11″ x 4 1/4″ (or 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″)
  • Soft Succulent: 3 1/4″ x 4 1/2″
  • Basic White: 2 3/4″ x 4″
  • Basic Black: 2 7/8″ x 4 1/8″
  • Scraps: Pale Papaya, Basic White
The 2 step stamping technique on these flowers gives the appearance of watercolored flowers.

I really like the look of this “colored” image. You certainly can see where the name of this stamp set came from – Hand-Penned Petals.

Not only is the 2 step stamping fun but I love the scalloped die cut border on this card too.
