Add Additional Color With These Easy SIP Card Techniques

You all know that I love making SIP cards (all you need is a SIP – Stamps, Ink, & Paper), and today, that’s what we’re making, but with a twist! I have two super easy card techniques to share with you that will completely change the look of your SIP cards without needing many products and time. For our easy card techniques, we’re going to be using a Sponge Dauber and a Water Spritzer.

Two handmade cards designed with the Stampin' Up! stamp set Under the Moon. Cards are from a project to teach easy card techniques to step up your simple SIP cards.

To create our SIP cards today, I’m going to be using the Stampin’ Up! stamp set Under the Moon. This image-only stamp set creates unique moonlit or daytime scenes, depending on your ink color choices. And it’s a great all-occasion stamp set because you can pair it with a sentiment to meet the occasion from any other stamp set you have!

SIP Card Techniques Video Tutorial

Join me and learn two super easy card techniques that you can do to step up your card making! First, we’re going to simply stamp our SIP card. Next, we’re going to stamp the same card but use a sponge dauber to add additional colors. Finally, we’re going to stamp the same card but use a water spritzer to give our scene a unique watercolor look. It’s fun to see the side-by-side comparisons of these easy techniques!

Sponge Dauber & Water Spritzer Card Details

Make sure to watch the video tutorial so you can see how easy these card techniques are to do! For the first card, we used a sponge dauber to add additional color to the stamp to give it an ombre look. When doing this, ink your stamp in the lighter color and then use the sponge dauber to add a darker color to the stamp. For the second card, we inked our stamp in the light color, then tapped the edges of the stamp in a darker color. Then used a water spritzer to get it wet and have the colors blend for a simple watercolor look.
