Birthday Cards For Him & More: Make The Cards He’ll Love

Let’s make birthday cards for him and more! Learn tips for stamping with the Stamparatus + learn how to make a watercolor wash background too. Watch to the end so you don’t miss any of the tips I share.

Are you ready to make Birthday Cards for Him? Or for some other occasion? I’d love to hear what you plan to make!

Easy Watercolor Wash Background

There are many ways to create your easy watercolor wash background, but I like to “stamp” my block into my stamp pad to pick up ink, then use a WaterPainter to dilute for the wash.

If using Basic White card stock, be careful to not use too much water. But it works perfect with a light touch and a quick wash. Check out my video to see how I did it.

Card Measurements

All 5 cards today use the same measurements.

  • Basic White Note Cards & Envelopes (folded size is 5″ x 3 1/2″)
  • Basic White layer: 4 1/2″ x 3″
  • Coordinating Colored Card Stock: 4 5/8″ x 3 1/8″ (I used Cajun Craze & Balmy Blue)

Use the Stamparatus For Large Stamps

Whenever I have large stamps, like these trees, I like to use my Stamparatus. It makes it easy to place the image right where you want it.

On my cards today, I wanted to make sure the TOP and the BOTTOM of the trees ran off the cardstock. Make sure to check my tips in the video to see how I got it placed just right each time.

For the smaller stamps, I find it is easier to use a clear block.

  1. Seems to be a problem with the site. Keep trying to order from today’s tutorial and it’s not working. I re-entered and my quantities are now up to 3. I just want one of each item I’m ordering.

Can somebody please check this out? Thank you
