How Paper Cards Are My Go-To for Quick and Easy Card Making

Using a piece of scrapbook paper is a great way to make paper cards in minutes. It’s a craft idea that makes a great gift too. It. all starts with a 12 X 12 piece of DSP.

Sometimes it’s so hard to cut up that pretty paper, but why keep it? Use it to make some beautiful cards to send to people to brighten their day.

For these paper cards I used designer paper that is double sided and used one side as the frame and the other as the focal point.

The highlight of these paper cards is the designer paper. Stampin’ Up! has some of the prettiest papers on the market. We are using the ‘Hand-Panned’ DSP with a fun frame card layout. What I love about this card design is you get to show both sides of the coordinating paper!

Paper Cards Made Fast | Video Tutorial

Learn how easy it is to make these fun frame cards that will help you dig out all the designer & scrapbook paper that you have been stashing and put it to great use! You will be creating in minutes with this fun design

To make these paper cards you start with cutting out a center of the designer paper.

If you don’t already have the Stitched Rectangle Dies, you might just want to add them to your next order. They are a “must” in my card making tool box.

Do you need to make a gift for someone? This card layout would be perfect to make a set of cards with a variety of greetings to give to someone as a special gift.

You can use the scrapbook paper with coordinating cardstock for your paper cards.

Card Measurements

All of these cards simply use an 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ piece of cardstock for the card base, then a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Designer Series Paper.

Use the Stitched Rectangle Dies to create the frame as I show in the video.

This is the perfect design to create with any papers and just add the greeting of your choice. All the greetings on my cards are from the BLOSSOMS IN BLOOM stamp set.

  8. Hi Jackie love your simple but beautiful cards. Just wondering if we can still buy the Stitched Rectangular Dies? I’m in Australia & can’t seem to find them.

    • The Stitched Rectangular Dies is now a retired product, so you may be able to find them on a resale site. But there are some similar dies available like the Radiating Stitches or Stylish Shapes.
