You all know (or if you’re new, you’ll quickly learn) that I am all about making quick and easy cards! There are so many stamping products and ideas out there that it can become overwhelming sometimes. So I like to keep it simple, and one of my favorite ways to do that is by making card layouts with Designer Series Paper (DSP). I have three different card layouts with Designer Series Paper to share with you today featuring the Flowering Zinnias DSP.
The Flowering Zinnias DSP is stunning. With all the bright pops of colors, this paper makes gorgeous cards! But the reason I’m highlighting it today is because of one specific print pattern. This DSP comes with a sheet that is a split design, and I always get so excited to get a piece of patterned paper like this! Check out my different card layouts using this paper to learn how you can make multiple cards easy! For each layout, I also featured a different stamp set for my sentiments to help show that you can create these cards for any occasion while using any stamp set you have.
Flowering Zinnias Card Layout 1
For this card layout, I made four cards all the same way. All it took was 2 pieces of Crumb Cake for 4 card bases, 1 sheet of Lemon Lime Twist, and 1/2 a sheet of DSP. See below for a DSP cutting diagram for this layout.
The sentiments for these cards are from the stamp set Sweetly Scripted. I stamped these on a 4″ piece of Basic White and then trimmed them down to the greeting height.
MEASUREMENTS:
- Card Base: 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
- Cardstock Layer: 3 1/4″ x 5 1/2″
- DSP: 3″ x 5 1/4″ (see cutting diagram below)
Flowering Zinnias Card Layouts 2
For this card layout, I made five similar cards. See the DSP cutting diagram below for the easy way to make these. (PS – it’s the other half of the DSP from card layout 1) These were super fun to make! I mixed and matched the different DSP coordinating colors for card bases and layers.
The sentiments for these cards are from the stamp set Happy Little Things. This is a two-stamp stamp set. So I first stamped the outline, and then for the fill I stamped off on scrap paper first and then in the outline for the two-tone look. I stamped these on Basic White and trimmed to size, along with using the coordinating Happy Little Things Dies.
MEASUREMENTS:
- Card Base: 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
- Cardstock Layer: each layer is 1/4″ wider than the DSP x 5 1/2″(see diagram below)
- Layer widths: 2 1/4″, 2 1/2″, 2 1/2″, 2 3/4″, 3 1/4″
- DSP: various sizes x 5 1/2″ (see diagram below)
- DSP widths: 2″, 2 1/4″, 2 1/4″, 2 1/2″, 3″
Flowering Zinnias Card Layout 3
And since I used up all my split design DSP pieces, here’s a bonus third card layout using some of the other Flowering Zinnias patterns! This card layout is one of my go-to’s for designing with DSP. CLICK HERE to see more cards of this layout created with different Designer Series Paper.
The sentiments for these cards are from the stamp set Something Fancy, and cut with the coordinating Something Fancy Dies.
MEASUREMENTS:
- Basic White Card Base: 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
- DSP: 4″ x 5 1/2″
- Basic White Layer: 2 7/8″ x 2 7/8″
- DSP: 2 3/4″ x 2 3/4″
