Make sure to watch my video to see what I am talking about!

Stamping & Card Making 101: What You Need to Get Started
Stamps
Selecting stamps can sometimes be overwhelming but it is the most fun part of selecting items you need. Make sure to watch my video to learn how I started and why it did not work. You don’t want to make those same mistakes.
Whether you are brand new to card making, or are just looking for a fun set for quick and easy cards, Butterfly Gala is the perfect stamp set. And don’t forget the coordinating punch.
Ink
Another tricky decision you will need to make is which inks to get.
You will want to make sure you get colors that will coordinate with the papers you select. I always recommend getting a few colors from the same color collection PLUS Black, and then building on that collection as you purchase more.
Make sure to scroll to the bottom of the post to see everything I used for today’s projects.
Paper
Once again, you want to make sure that you have coordinating products. I think the best purchase you can make is a package of the 6″ x 6″ Color Collection Designer Series Papers. Make sure to get the color group that goes with the colors you selected in ink pads–that way everything coordinates and you can mix and match everything together making it easy peasy!
Besides the Designer Series Paper, the White Notecards and Envelopes plus a package of Whisper White will give you everything you need to get well on your way to making some beautiful cards.

I wish I would have had this kind of information when I started stamping 30 years ago. I did exactly what you did when I started out. I went to a stamp convention and spent around $500 and came home and soon discovered my purchases did not go together. Wonderful video and I’m sure it will be a real blessing for a new stamper.
I hope this helps people. I’m so sorry you, like me, learned the hard way but it sounds like you’re still making cards so that’s wonderful!!
Jackie, for those of us that have been stamping awhile sometimes we need something quick and easy to follow. I wish I had this information when I started. I too spent lots of money on things that looked nice but in the end nothing went together. I like your style, quick and easy and not over done. Thanks for sharing and for all your quick and easy tips. I did purchase your one sheet wonder and can’t wait to try it.
Thanks Glenda! If this can help those who are new that’s wonderful and I really appreciate those of you who know this chiming in with your experiences too because it lets other people know this is a common problem but it doesn’t have to be! Hopefully people can learn from us!
Fantastic video. I have been stamping for quite a few years but still found this informative and if I was a beginner it was great information.
Thanks Vivien! I’m so glad you found the information helpful and I appreciate hearing from you. Have a stamp happy day!
I also spent a fortune on stamps and inks when I first started stamping, I wish I could say that was years ago but it was about one year ago! Then I felt overwhelmed by all my products!!
I was going to great Stampin Up classes then I injured my back and couldn’t attend anymore and my stamping was put on hold.
I really enjoy your simple card making style and your practical ideas and advice! Love your videos! I think I can even make these cards, amazingly I have everything I need!!
I’m glad that your back is better and that you’re able to do some stamping again. I have tons of quick and easy ideas so binge watch the videos and pick out what suits you. If you need simple ideas check out my SIP playlist on YouTube and Simple Cards Playlist and DSP featured cards too. Have a stamp happy day!
Great video, as always! Thank you.
You’re welcome Penne! Thanks for watching!
