Welcome back for episode #4 of Meet the DSPs! Today we are having some fun with the BIRTHDAY MEMORIES DSP!

Today’s featured DSP takes me back to my childhood…. If you like “retro” you will like this paper! There are so many fun images in the BIRTHDAY MEMORIES DESIGNER SERIES PAPER. This paper is part of a whole suite of products you can find on pages 68-69 of the 2017-2018 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog. But, I used a completely different stamp set for my greetings–it’s called HAPPY BIRTHDAY GORGEOUS. Since I was focusing on the DSP, I just was looking for a set with some words that worked well.
Like my other cards in this series of posts, let the DSP do the work. Just add some words and some ribbon–and BAM–QUICK & EASY CARDS! And don’t forget the inside!
This paper has a ton of different colors in it! Makes it so easy to work with because so many coordinate!
- Each card uses a 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ card base (Soft Sky, Real Red, Pacific Point)
- DSP: 5 1/4″ x 4″
- Whisper White strip
- Bakers Twine
- Whisper White: 5 1/4″ x 4″ (inside)
- Adhere DSP to card base
- Wrap Bakers Twine around and tie into bow (I always double my Baker Twine so it’s a little thicker)
- Stamp greeting on center of strip of Whisper White
- Adhere to card front
- Trim off the ends to card base edge
- Finish off the inside with a scrap of DSP and “Happy Birthday”
One thing I always struggle with is remembering (or matching) what colors coordinate with each of the papers. Here is a chart that I created that you can download and print–CLICK THE PICTURE BELOW TO DOWNLOAD. I have mine in a sheet protector and keep on my stamping desk.
