Easy Card Making Technique to Elevate Simple Cards

Simple cards don’t have to look plain. With one easy card making technique, you can elevate even the most basic no-layer card and give it a polished, finished look—without adding extra supplies or complicated steps. This technique is perfect for beginners, quick card makers, and anyone who loves keeping things simple while still creating beautiful handmade cards.

Handmade no-layer card created using an easy card making technique with ink blending and stamped florals

For this project, I’m keeping the supplies simple and letting the technique do the work. The real star of the show is the stamp pad paired with blending brushes, which makes it easy to add soft color and visual interest to even the most basic card design. I’m using the Mixed Florals and The Right Words stamp sets for both images and sentiments, along with a few versatile dies—Textured Notes, Spotlight on Nature, and Everyday Arches—to add subtle shape and texture without extra layers. These are all great, mix-and-match supplies you can use again and again.

You’ll watch the entire process from start to finish, including how I use ink and blending brushes to add soft color and interest to a no-layer card. This is a great technique to try if you love quick cards, simple stamping, and ideas that are easy to recreate again and again.

  1. I love these cards. Nice and easy to way to show off a detailed stamp image. I have a group that gets together once a month and we make 4 cards. I think this would be a great new technique for them to learn. Thanks for sharing.
