You can’t resist watching how blender pens make their magic on handmade cards. It’s SO easy & fun! This monochromatic card design is great for the guys too! It’s a technique that works well for card making and many other paper crafts too.

Blender pens are colorless so that you can use them in a multitude of ways.

Blender Pens: All the In’s and Out’s of Their Use

The Stampin’ Up! ‘Enjoy the Moment’ stamp set is perfect for nature lovers, making masculine cards and this simple blender pen coloring technique I have to share with you today.  Check out the video then come back here for all the card measurements and the list of all the supplies I used.

Make sure to watch all the way to the end, I have lots of tips to share along the way.

Blender Pens for Watercolor Look:

This watercolor look is super easy to achieve by just blending the ink that is part of your stamped image.

The blender pens can work like watercolor brush.

Blender Card Details

Here are all the details on the featured card that I made in the video.

Learning how to use blender pens is a technique you can use not only on cards but other paper craft projects.

Card Recipe

  • Crumb Cake Card Base:  8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″
  • Basic White:  2″ x 5″
  • Early Espresso:  2 1/8″ x 5 1/8″
  • Basic White Scrap

More Ideas With the Enjoy The Moment Stamp Set

I think the blender pens pair well with the Stampin' Up! Enjoy Every Moment stamp set.

The above cards are made using the Basic White Note Cards and Envelopes.  You can see with the card on the left I used the same blender pen technique as in the video, while the card on the right is just stamped.

This masculine card was made with blender pen and stamped block technique.

I love how the background on this card turned out.  I just inked up my clear blocks and used them as stamps!  A little tip–practice to see how you like the colors.  I used Crumb Cake, but stamped off onto scrap paper first and then spritzed with a little water before I stamped it.

I will do a video soon showing how easy it is to get this look.

This birthday card was made with blender pens and a little ink.

For this one, I stamped all the images on a piece of Basic White, then cut the center out with a Stitched Rectangle Die.  The center piece from the die, I trimmed off a little bit from all sides so you could see the Early Espresso player underneath.

  1. Jackie, I love every single one of these cards! I have the stamp set and liked it, but my ideas for using it were limited. These are the 1st cards using the set that has made me want to go use it, too. Thanks also for the reminder about blender pens. It’s been a while.

  2. Love this tutorial! Have this stamp set but haven’t used it yet. Have blenders but very seldom do I think to use it. This gives me a nudge to get going on these things. Thanks. I look forward to all your posts.

  4. You mentioned in one of your demos using the spritzer. I have tried and end up with watery runs and warped paper. Any suggestions? Maybe a video demo?
I really enjoy your videos because you keep things simple.

    • It sounds like either you are pressing the spritzer too hard, or too much OR you have a defective spritzer but I would start with a lighter touch and see if that works for you.
