Let me be the the first person to tell you, you DO NOT need them all! A crafter’s go-to adhesive is always a personal preference, you just need to figure out which one works best for you. Here’s a quick breakdown of each adhesive and its main use. For more details, make sure to watch the video and download the free guide above.
- Multipurpose Liquid Glue: Quick drying but not instant so you have wiggle room to slide layers straight, a great all-purpose adhesive
- Stampin’ Seal: Instant bond, great all-purpose adhesive
- Stampin’ Seal+”: Super strength instant bond, for heavy layers or embellishments
- Mini Glue Dots: Small adhesive dots, for small details, ribbons, or embellishments
- Tear & Tape: Easy placement, for 3D projects and fun fold cards needing extra strength
- Stampin’ Dimensionals: Foam hexagons, add depth and dimension to cards
- Foam Adhesive Strips: Best for creating shaker cards
- Foam Adhesive Sheets: Cut with scissors or dies for added dimension
- Adhesive Sheets: Best for adhering intricate die cuts
- Fine-Tip Glue Pen: For small embellishments, glitter, and detailed die cuts
Jackie’s Favorite Adhesives
If you’re feeling overwhelmed by all the different adhesive options and don’t know where to begin, let me recommend to you my favorites! I believe there are three adhesives that every card maker should have in their stamping tool kit: Liquid Glue, Stampin’ Dimensionals, and Mini Glue Dots. If you follow me, you’ll see me use these three adhesives in almost every one of my card making projects – like the card pictured here!

- Multipurpose Liquid Glue*: Also commonly referred to as “Green Glue”. A little goes a long way, it’s a strong bond, and it dries clear. I also love that it’s not instant bond so you have a few seconds to slide a layer to get it straight. For the card pictured, I used this adhesive to secure the Basic White focal layer to the Basic Black layer.
- Stampin’ Dimensionals: Using these to pop layers up and give your cards more depth and dimension can change a simple card to be a wow card. Since I’m all about simple stamping, I use these a lot. For the card pictured, I used them to adhere the pink flowers, the Basic Black layer to the card base, and the thank you sentiment. For the stamped flower, that’s actually one stamp. I first stamped it in green and then again in pink on scrap paper. I cut out the flowers and adhered them on top of the green ones.
- Mini Glue Dots: I love to add a small linen bow to my cards. It’s another small detail that can turn a simple card to a wow card. Mini Glue Dots are the easiest way to adhere the bow because you can roll it between your fingers and make it the size you need it.
*Green Glue Disclaimer: Many crafters either LOVE IT or HATE IT. Just because it’s my personal favorite does not mean it has to be yours. But I do believe everyone needs to have a good all-purpose adhesive. So if you hate green glue, I would recommend the Stampin’ Seal instead.
