Winter Themed Cards With Winterly Tree Tops

Where are all my winter loving stamping friends? I’m anxiously waiting for winter to come because that means I get to go enjoy my second home in Arizona! This will be our second official year as “snow birds” and I can’t wait to escape the Michigan snow for sunshine and mountains! So, as my excitement grows for Arizona I was feeling inspired to make these winter themed cards that are perfect to make for any occasion. When winter approaches I feel like we all get focused on holiday cards, so I enjoy sharing some seasonal ideas to make. Although, yes, these would also make some beautiful holiday cards to mail to loved ones.

Three winter themed cards designed with the Stampin' Up! Winterly Tree Tops Bundle and Nests of Winter DSP.

The winter themed cards I’m sharing today are designed with the Stampin’ Up! Bundle Winterly Tree Tops along with the Nests of Winter Designer Series Paper. The sketched birds perched on branches are perfect to celebrate the season!

Winterly Tree Tops Card Details

There is no project video to share with you today. These cards are simple enough that I know you can make them just by looking at the pictures and following the measurements!

A thinking of you card lying on top of a card making template book. The card was designed by following the measurements of the template book. Card is designed with a winter themed and a bird focal image.

Whenever I begin creating with a new stamp set, the first thing I do is reach for my card making templates to help find inspiration. But now, I get to flip through our Card Making Templates Book!! 48 different templates with 96 card ideas, this book is the best starting point if you’re not sure how to begin a card design! CLICK HERE to purchase your book for easy card layouts.

As you can see in the picture, this card was inspired by Template #13 in our book. Here are the measurements:

  • Gray Granite Card Base: 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″
  • Early Espresso: 3 1/8″ x 4 3/8″
  • Nests of Winder DSP: 3″ x 4 1/4″ and 4 3/4″ x 3/4″
  • Basic White: Scraps for die cutting

For this card, I stamped and die cut the bird from Basic White using the Winterly Tree Top Dies and colored it with my favorite coloring tool Stampin’ Blends. If you’re not familiar with using Stampin’ Blends, CLICK HERE for a video tutorial where I share my simple tips for coloring with them.

A thank you card that has winter birch background paper, a greenery wreath, and a die cut bird in the center.

For this next card, I die cut a bird from the Nests of Winter DSP. I stamped and die cut the wreath from Basic White and colored it with Stampin’ Blends. Click the link above for my supply list for the colors that I used. And then I fussy cut the Sending Thanks sentiment. Here are the card measurements:

  • Basic White Card Base: 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″
  • Cherry Cobbler: 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″
  • Nests of Winter DSP: 3 3/4″ x 5″ and die cut bird
An all occasion card with a sentiment that says "a friend like you brings me happiness", and then two die cut birds sitting on top of a branch focal image.

For this final card, no coloring with Stampin’ Blends was done! These birds were also die cut using the Winterly Tree Tops Dies from the Nests of Winter DSP. This card’s measurements are:

  • Basic White Card Base: 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″
  • Basic White Layer: 3 3/4″ x 5″
  • Early Espresso: 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″ and 3 1/8″ x 3 1/8″
  • DSP: 3″ x 3″ and die cut birds

Here’s Another Winter Card Idea To Make!

A winter themed birthday card designed with snow covered pine trees.

If you don’t find these sketched birds to be winter inspiring, how about some snow covered pine trees? For more winter themed cards, check out this one that was designed with the Frosted Forest Bundle and was part of a project where I shared my easy tips for creating with stencils. I made this card for a birthday, but you could easily change the sentiment to be for any occasion that you’re celebrating this winter! CLICK HERE to learn about this project.
