Hello stamping friends! It’s Jackie’s daughter, Jesi, here taking over the blog to talk about one of my favorite Stampin’ Up! products… Paper Pumpkin! Paper Pumpkin is a fun card making subscription box to receive each month, and it’s perfect for all levels of card makers. But if you’re a beginner card maker wanting some new ideas, or maybe you’re interested in giving card making a try but don’t have the supplies, this card making box is for you!
Paper Pumpkin is Stampin’ Up!’s subscription box for making quick and easy cards every month. Each box comes with everything you need, including pre-cut pieces, a stamp set, a Stampin’ Spot (ink), embellishments, adhesive, envelopes, and easy step-by-step instructions. Every month your box theme and card designs will be different – making it a fun and creative surprise to get!

Pictured above is the September 2023 Paper Pumpkin. Since this subscription box changes card themes every month, unfortunately, you may not be able to make these cards yourself. But that’s the fun creative surprise of signing up for this monthly card kit! This kit shows the variety of cards that you get to make each month, and that this box is not only making cards. This month’s Paper Pumpkin made 8 small square cards that coordinated with 8 small paper treat bags!

October 2023 Paper Pumpkin
Let’s chat a little more about this awesome card making subscription box, and what’s coming next month.

Every month your card kit theme is going to be different, and you’ll receive a small hint about what it’s going to be. This way, if you feel like it’s not a card theme you would like to make – you can skip receiving it! This will save you a month of your subscription to use later.
Here’s the cute hint about the October 2023 Paper Pumpkin! This card kit is going to be for making holiday cards and will include everything to make eight cards, four cards each of two designs. And the best part… this box is going to coordinate with the November 2023 Paper Pumpkin!
So if you’ve never tried Paper Pumpkin before, this is the time to sign up for a 3 month subscription and give it a try! I’ve been doing these kits for years, and the holiday themes have never disappointed!
More Card Making Ideas From a Paper Pumpkin
The card making fun doesn’t have to stop once you’ve used up the supplies that come in the box! Here’s a quick card I made using the stamp set and ink that came in the September 2023 Paper Pumpkin, along with a few additional products that I have. And don’t forget this is Jesi here, I don’t have the beautiful craft room that my mother, Jackie, does. I truly don’t have a lot of card making supplies! So getting these little stamp sets each month really helps me in creating different cards.

I made this card by following an old project of Jackies but adapting it for what supplies I have. You can see Jackie’s project HERE. And I got the color combination by using Jackie’s Color Coach, which you can find HERE. Here’s the supplies & measurements I used:
- Kraft Note Cards & Envelopes
- Lost Lagoon, Pretty Peacock, and Calypso Coral strips: 1/2″ x 5″
- I cut my strips from a full sheet of cardstock so started with 1/2″ x 8 1/2″. When I cut down to 1/2″ x 5″, I was able to use the remaining 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ strips to design the inside of my card and have to paper scraps!
- 2″ Circle Punch and Basic White Cardstock
- Stamps from the September 2023 Paper Pumpkin
- Lost Lagoon Stampin’ Spot, from the September 2023 Paper Pumpkin
