It’s that time of the year when many of us will be scrambling to find the perfect gifts for friends and family. I am right there with you my friends, which is why over the past few years I have leaned towards gift cards. Now some of you may say gift cards are impersonal, but I disagree. To me, gift cards guarantee that the receiver is going to get something that they’ve wanted or needed. Plus, we don’t have to let it be boring! Make this easy gift card holder for a nice card to gift it in.
You will love this easy gift card holder and I hope that you will save this idea to use all year long! It’s perfect not only for holiday gift-giving, but for birthdays, showers, babies, and any special occasion!
These are fun and easy gift card holders to make and I kept them super simple. But, if you like to “fancy them up” you could easily add layers, stamping, embellishments, and more. All I’m sharing here is how to make a card that holds a gift card. So design the “card part” of this easy gift card holder any way you want… which is the fun creative part!

The video is short today – because this project really is super simple! But make sure to watch it for the tips I have for adhering the pocket so that the gift card easily fits and slides out.

Measurements & Supplies
This is a great project for using up your scraps of Designer Series Paper. You don’t need a lot, so just grab your paper and a piece of coordinating card stock. I made all of these easy gift card holders using holiday themed papers, but remember you could use any patterned paper and design these for any occasion!
Measurements:
- Card Base: 11″ x 4 1/4″
- Score at 1 1/2″ and 5 1/2″
- DSP for front: 3 3/4″ x 4″
- DSP for inside: 1 1/4″ x 4″
- Basic White/Very Vanilla for inside: 3 3/4″ x 4″
And from there… you can add to the design in any way that you want! Substitute the DSP for the front with Basic White to stamp on.
I used a variety of different Designer Series Papers – Beary Christmas, Winter Meadow, and A Walk in the Forest.
For the greeting on these, I used sentiment stamps from the Festive & Fun stamp set.
