This is an easy and fun card making background technique that I have been so excited to teach you! I call it the ‘smooshing’ technique. It’s a little bit messy, but not much! And you probably already have the supplies you need to make these backgrounds!
We are also using the Stamparatus today to ensure that our greeting is super dark and black! This is one of my favorite uses for the Stamparatus – stamping image several times to get it to look like you want. Make sure to check out the video for all my tips!

Fun & Easy Card Making Background Video Tutorial
All you need to make this easy card making background is a few Classic Ink Pad reinkers, some wax paper, and a water spritzing bottle. Check out today’s video tutorial for all my tips and how I finished my cards after I made the backgrounds.
I hope you give this a try. Remember, you have to experiment. Some colors look great together, while others just didn’t work. It’s only paper – if you don’t like it, throw it away and try some other color combinations!
Let me know what color combination you want to try on your card background–I’m super curious to read your thoughts!

Yes, please do give it a try–I think you’ll find it very fun!
Loved this technique, Jackie! I’m wondering what did you place at the top of the reinkers’ cap to identify the color?
I’m glad you like this technique! Oh, it’s a piece of coordinating cardstock punches with a small hole punch.
Great! Thank you!
