Step Up Your Card Making With This Awesome Explosion Card

If you are wanting to make an awesome explosion card, and keep it simple to make, this is the tutorial for you. The stamping is simple, but the explosion card insert makes it amazing!

It’s quite a surprise when you open this card and see the inside. This explosion card tutorial will teach you how easy it is to make. You can use any products you have; you basically create a card and then add the explosion part to the inside!

You can stamp the front of the card any way that you want. Create a regular card, and then for the inside, add the “explosion mechanism” for something different. The video contains all the instruction you need!

Stamps Used: Artistically Inked & Good Feelings

Design the front like any other card…

  • Crumb Cake – 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″
  • Basic White – 4 1/2″ x 3 1/4″
  • Black – 4 5/8″ x 3 3/8″

For the inside, explosion card mechanism you will need a 6″ x 6″ piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) or lightweight paper. Cardstock is a bit too thick and heavy.

The video will show you step-by-step how to fold the paper for the inside.

I added (2) squares to the inside that are 2 3/4″ x 2 3/4″

You could step this card up in any way that you want, but I wanted to focus on showing you the explosion fold, so I kept mine simple; plus-I prefer making simple cards!

  1. Jackie,
Is there any chance that Stampin Up would bring back the whale tail punch? There are hundreds of happy crafters who would be over the moon to purchase it.
Thanks so much for your card tutorials. I love them!!!
