As a card maker, sympathy cards are some of the hardest, but most meaningful, to make. These 4 handmade sympathy cards are simple to make. I kept them very soft and calming.
For all of these cards, I have looked through the dies I have and found what I call “silhouette” dies. Dies that just cut floral/nature shapes; many different die sets have these.
I used the dies with a greeting set for my easy-to-make handmade sympathy cards.

The texture & dimension on these sympathy cards are hard to see in the photos so you know what that means? You don’t want to miss watching the video to see how beautiful these cards are!

How to Make These Handmade Sympathy Cards
All of the cards are made using the same measurements; I just varied the colors a bit.

Measurements:
- Card Base: 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″
- Stamped/embossed layer: 3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″
- Layer: 3 3/4″ x 5″
Make sure to first stamp on the top layer, then emboss it.

These cards are made using the Harvest Dies. They coordinate with the Natures Harvest stamp set.

The card on the left uses dies from the Forever Flourishing set, which coordinate the with Forever Fern stamp set.
The greetings for all of the cards are from the Peaceful Moments stamp set. A great all-occasion greeting stamp set. It is my “go to” set!

Beautiful neutrals Jackie! Thanks for great ideas.
So glad you liked these Colleen!
Love these ideas – sympathy cards always good to have on hand.
Now to make…
Yes…they are definitely good ones to have on hand, sadly.
I prefer the vanilla card stock. Beautiful cards!
It’s nice that we have so many cardstock colors to choose from.
Thank you. These are really lovely, and easy to duplicate. Your ideas are always great!
Thanks so much, Nancy!
Love the vanilla card stock. All your ideas
Are beautiful
I like the Vanilla for these cards too!
Beautiful cards!!! I really like the Very Vanilla card 😊
I hope I inspired you to make one like it!
I think sympathy cards need to be calming – I love what you have done with the cut-outs. Just enough to make the cards classy but not overdone. Perfect. I plan to use your ideas and I always use vanilla. To me it is comforting and subtle. Who needs to be jarred when mourning a death.
Thanks so much.
I’m glad that you like this card design, Hope!
Very vanilla, they are so subtle.
I’m glad you like those, Sue!
I love the softness of the very vanilla for a sympathy card. but they are all beautiful.
I agree–the softer color is nice for sympathy cards.
Simple, well, sort of – – – simply elegant I would say 😊
