Quick and easy Christmas cards is the topic today but first I want to say happy October stamping friends! I do say that with a frown as time is going by just way too fast for me!  But what I do love about October is that I find more time to create and stamp and just do those things inside the house that I love to do.  Also, Christmas is right around the corner guys–no more procrastinating!  Time to plan out your Christmas cards and get your supplies ordered.

Today I want to share a few quick & easy Christmas cards that I think you will love. They are super quick and easy, and with this gorgeous designer series paper the cards are beautiful.

We are using the Designer Series Paper called ALL IS BRIGHT that is found on page 6 of the Holiday Catalog. This paper is very unique because it has fun, bold & bright designs plus several rich elegant designs–they are truly quite a clash but give you such fun variety in a pack of paper!

Look how different these Christmas cards are….and the paper is all from the same package.

I love love love this paper…look at all the different prints.  Not only do we have the big prints that work perfect for a card front on their own, but there are a lot of more solid little prints that are perfect for many different uses.

Where Did That Greeting Come From?

This paper is perfect to just add the greeting of your choice and BAM–quick & easy Christmas cards!  As you look through the Stampin’ Up! catalog, they have grouped together products in suites, which is great, BUT don’t limit using the papers with JUST the suite of products they are grouped with.  For today’s cards I used a few different stamp sets for my greetings.

Both of the cards above use greetings from the PEACEFUL NOEL stamp set on page 29 of the Holiday Catalog.

These two cards both have a greeting from MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL on page 5.  I love this big bold image.  It layered really nice with the circle framelits.

Before I share the recipes for all these cards, I want to wonder off and share this video with you.

Since this paper has such fabulous prints, I simply cut a few layers and added my greeting.  I could actually make 6 cards like this one out of one piece of the paper.

Card Recipe

  • Real Red:  8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, score & fold at 4 1/4″
  • Call Me Clover:  3 5/8″ x  4 7/8″
  • DSP:  3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″
  • Whisper White Strip: 1″ wide
  • Gold Foil:  1 1/8″ strip
  • Gold Metallic Pearls

Both of these cards are similar as they completely cover the card front with the Designer Series Paper.  One thing you do not notice in the picture is that the finished card is 4″ x 5 1/2″, rather than the normal 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″

Why would I do that?

When you cut your 12″ x 12″ piece of Designer Series Papers, if you want to completely cover the card front, you would need a piece that is 4 1/4″ wide.  But, if you did that, you would only be able to get 4 cards out of one piece, with a lot left over.  By making my cards 4″ x 5 1/2″ (or even 4″ x 5 1/4″ if you’d rather) I can get 6 pieces of DSP to make 6 cards!

What do you think?

I hope today’s cards inspire you to start planning out your Christmas cards.  Don’t be afraid to keep them simple, because SIMPLE does not have to mean BORING!  If you like this paper, find the greeting you like and you can make a big batch of cards with not a ton of supplies and I promise, they are quick and easy!  Would love to hear from you–what do you think?  Do you like these quick and easy cards?
