Do you struggle with masculine cards? I know I do and I am always looking for good “all occasion” stamps that I can use to make them. Why is making cards for the guys so hard? Probably because I love stamping flowers and “pretty stuff.” If you struggle like I do, I know you are going to love the WINTER WOODS stamp set and coordinating framelits. Even though this stamp set is in the Holiday Catalog, and has “Christmas” words in it–it’s perfect for any occasion. Just grab a greeting from another stamp set to make just about any card you need for that special guy.
Masculine Cards Using Winter Woods Stamp Set
Like I have been doing, I have 3 different masculine cards to share with you today all using this awesome stamp set. Do you like me sharing more than one card at a time???? It’s something I have been testing out. I think it shows the versatility in a stamp set and helps you decide if you want to purchase it. That is one of the things I absolutely love about Stampin’ Up! stamp sets–they are designed so you can make so many different cards with them! Please let me know if you like this new blog post format or if you’d rather I post them just one at a time!
Quick Tip Video – Using THICK Cardstock
Today I also have a quick tip video for you about THICK cardstock. If you are not using a colored cardstock for your card base, I highly recommend you use either Whisper White THICK or Very Vanilla THICK.
If you are reading this in your email, the video might now show up, so just click below to go to YouTube and watch it. While there, make sure to subscribe so you don’t miss any of my videos!
Winter Woods Cards
Here is the card that I show in the Quick Tips video. It was so quick and easy to make–totally my style!
For this first handmade card, I used the greeting that came in the stamp set for the front.
Card Recipe
- Whisper White THICK: 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, score & fold at 4 1/4″
- Shaded Spruce: 3 3/8″ x 4 5/8″
- Whisper White: 3 1/4″ x 4 1/2″
- Soft Suede: 2″ x 3 1/4″
- Linen Thread
- Scrap of Whisper White

Card Tips
- The curve on the Soft Suede layer is cut with one of the framelits–easy peasy!
- Make sure to use the Embossing Buddy when embossing the greeting (if you don’t know how to do this, leave me a comment and I will share a link to a video)
- Card front is embossed using the Subtles Embossing Folder–my go to folder!
Don’t forget to stamp the inside!
Since this stamp set did not have a greeting for the inside, I used one from the stamp set called MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL. You can find this on page 5 of the Holiday Catalog.
Here are a couple more masculine cards for you!
I have to admit–this is the stamp that caught my eye first in this stamp set–the BIRCH TREES. I LOVE BIRCH TREES!!!! And this stamp is just so simple and classic.
Card Recipe
- Smokey Slate Card Base: 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored and folded at 4 1/4″
- Whisper White: 4 1/4″ x 3″
- Blackberry Bliss: 4 3/8″ x 3 1/8″
- Blackberry Bliss: 1 1/4″ x 2 1/2″

The greetings for both the front and the inside of this card came from the stamp set called COUNTRY HOME on page 43 of the Holiday Catalog
And one more….
Like I said at the beginning of this post, this stamp set is perfect for any occasion when you just grab some different greetings. For this one I used greetings from the stamp set called LILYPAD LAKE found on page 133 of the Annual Catalog. This makes a perfect card to send to a guy friend or family member who is struggling with something.
