There are so many options and the Blended Seasons stamp set is perfect to color using just about any technique you prefer! The line images are so nice and big you can color with markers, Stampin’ Blends, Watercolor Pencils, Watercoloring, or whatever you prefer!
I am actually a WATERCOLOR GAL for my #1 coloring preference. And then #2, is a very close Stampin’ Blends!!! Today I have 2 ways to color! Watercoloring with an AquaPainter and ink pads and another with the Stampin’ Blends, which are alcohol markers. Both card ideas using the same image from the August Special Release bundle–Blended Seasons. This is the absolute perfect stamp set for all you coloring enthusiasts! Here are the 2 cards:
Let’s Start With A Video: 2 Ways to Color / Card Making with Blended Seasons
This video shows you how I colored each of these cards. One watercoloring technique with an AquaPainter and my ink pads, the other with Stampin’ Blends. I know some people are afraid of the Stampin’ Blends (alcohol markers,) but I promise, I make it EASY PEASY! You’ll love these 2 ways to color!

How Do You Like To Color? Watercolor? Stampin’ Blends?
For this card, I embossed the image using white powder on Shimmery White cardstock. Since I watercolored, I needed to use either the Shimmery White or Watercolor paper. After heat embossing, I used my AquaPainter and Stampin’ Pads to color…. this makes a beautiful watercoloring card. It’s super easy and fun and I love that you don’t have to stay in the lines. Make sure to watch my video to see how I achieved this watercolor look! Here are the colors that I used:
Card Recipe
- Gorgeous Grape: 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored and folded at 4 1/4″
- Shimmery White: 4″ x 5 1/4″
- Basic Black: 7/8″ x 5 1/2″
- Whisper White for inside: 4″ x 5 1/4″
- All supplies used are shown at the bottom of the post
Make sure that when you emboss, you first rub the embossing buddy over your cardstock. This will prevent all those little “white specks” from sticking to your card and give you a cleaner looking embossed image.
Notice the pearls? These are just the basic white pearls and I colored them with the Dark Highland Heather Stampin’ Blends!!!!
Don’t forget the inside:
I kept it very simple by just stamping the floral image in Granny Apple Green.
Coloring with Stampin’ Blends
On this card I used my Stampin’ Blends to color. I have never been a “marker” fan, but the Stampin’ Blends have changed my coloring world. They are so easy to use and you get such fabulous results. Make sure that when you color with the Stampin’ Blends you use Whisper White cardstock and stamp your image using the Memento Black ink pad. Today’s video is filled with tips for coloring using the Stampin’ Blends on this card.
Here are the colors I used:
Card Recipe
- Mango Melody: 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored and folded at 4 1/4″
- Whisper White, Granny Apple Green, Basic Black scraps
- Whisper White for inside: 4″ x 5 1/4″
- All supplies used are shown at the bottom of the post
The inside is stamped the same as the first card. Wanted to keep it simple so that I could write a note inside.
So, What is YOUR Preference?
