One of the things that I absolutely LOVE about this stamp set is that you can make cards for so many different occasions. Today we are changing seasons! I’m sharing 2 fall card design ideas using Blended Seasons bundle. The first card design idea is super quick & easy, but the other took some time since I watercolored it. (but it is still easy!) The other day I shared a “congrats” card and a “friendship” card design idea that were both very “summery” so if you missed those be sure to go back and check them out.
2 Blended Seasons Fall Card Design Ideas: Video
Today’s video is pretty short, but it was easiest to explain the watercolored card and show how I popped up the center with a video tutorial. It also has a few tips for making both of these!
If you are reading this in your email, the video might not show up, just CLICK HERE to view it.

Color the leaves? or just stamp?
These cards each have a totally different look because one the leaves are colored, where the other they are just stamped with some colored ink. Let’s take a look at the colored one first.
I just love this fall color combination! (even though I am not currently looking forward to fall!) I started with a 3 3/4″ x 5″ piece of Watercolor Paper. When watercoloring, you need to use either Watercolor Paper OR Shimmery White. The Whisper White cardstock does not do well with water.
The next important thing is that you must use an ink pad to stamp in that is waterproof. This can be either the Black Stazon, or the old Archival Black that is now retired. Do not use Memento ink like you need to use with the Stampin’ Blends.
Card Recipe
- Crumb Cake: 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored and folded at 4 1/4″
- Watercolor Paper: 3 3/4″ x 5″
- Basic Black 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″ + 1″ x 5″ strip
- All supplies used are shown at the bottom of the post
The video probably explains how I did this better, so if this doesn’t make sense–make sure to watch it
First, I stamped the leaves randomly and watercolored them using an Aqua Painter and my 3 colors of Stampin’ Pads. This was a very “quick & easy” watercoloring, what I like to call “sloppy” watercoloring look.
Once colored, I set aside to dry and stamped and embossed the greeting in the center of the Black strip. Next, I adhered this strip, putting adhesive JUST UNDER the greeting part, across the center of the stamped and colored layer.
And finally, I ran it through the Big Shot using the die from the STITCHED SEASONS framelits. (remember–this set of framelits is ONLY available this month!!!!!). This will cut through not only the watercolor paper layer, but the black layer as well. Hopefully you can see in this picture how the black is cut right along with the watercolor paper.
After cutting this out, I assembled the card placing the cut out piece in the center, where it was cut from, but using dimensional under it.
Quick & Easy Card
Today’s second card is totally quick and easy! I just stamped the leaves in Cajun Craze, layered a couple of the cut outs, added a bow–and BAM–it’s done!
Card Recipe
- Cajun Craze: 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored and folded at 4 1/4″
- Crumb Cake: 3 3/4″ x 5″
- Very Vanilla: 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″
- Scraps: Cajun Craze, Granny Apple Green, Mango Melody & Very Vanilla
- All supplies used are shown at the bottom of the post
Which card design idea is more your style?
These cards are totally different. Both EASY, but one is way quicker! Which would you rather make? Leave a comment and let me know.
