It is time for another “throwback idea” that is a classic! It’s called a no peek gift bag and I have been sharing this idea for years. It makes packaging up your gifts to look pretty so easy. The no peek gift bag is an idea that you can use year-round for all your gift-giving occasions.
I designed this project many many years ago because I always struggled with getting tissue paper in a gift bag to look pretty. Do you have that same struggle? Mine always ended up being “shoved” in the bag and nothing but a mess. So, the no peek gift bag idea was born and it is the perfect solution. And, it is a gift bag and card in one!
You basically make a greeting card and then cut a slit in the top so that you can place it over the handles of your gift bag. You’ll love this idea and how EASY it is!
No Peek Gift Bag Video Tutorial
In the video, I will show you how to figure out the size of the card, how to cut the top so it fits your no peek gift bag and how to make this bag look extra special.
Over the years I have shared many different versions of the no peek gift bag. All of the ones pictured are from years past and the stamps and papers that I used are no longer available.
But don’t let that stop you! Remember, it is basically just a card, cut to fit over the top of the gift bag. Make sure to watch the video to see how to turn any card into the topper for your no peek gift bag!
Besides the “card” for the topper, you can also add any tags, ribbons, or whatever else you want to decorate it. The beauty is, no more fighting with tissue paper to make it look all pretty like the fancy stores can do!
My samples show a variety of different cards that were used. I think in the video I even showed a few others. There is no limit to making no peek gift bags for any occasion. Just start with a card and follow the tips to add it to your gift bag!
This is certainly a “timeless” idea that never gets old. I hope it helps you with your upcoming Christmas gift-giving packaging, as well as all year long for all occasions.

Love this idea Jackie ! And I was thinking ,my grand kids love opening parcels but love getting gift cards so why not smaller bags and make the cards top folds ,pop in their gift card and small treats and bingo ! The card could be a bit smaller but that’s a choice thing .
