Today I want to show you how to make fun layers for a thank you card. We’re also saying good-bye to Lovely as a Tree. Sometimes it is hard to say good-bye! Usually I am excited when stamp sets retire, because that means there are new ones coming……but, this one is a bit hard! Did you know that this stamp set was originally introduced in 2001? It has been in the catalog for 18 Years!!!! It’s definitely become an OLD FRIEND! So, let’s create a special thank you card in its’ honor and I’ll show you how to make fun layers too. You’ll be able to create similar fun layers with other stamp sets you own too.
How to Make Fun Layers for a Thank You Card Video
Let’s go out with a bang with this fun “kinda a technique” card. You can’t really tell in the picture that the WHITE is embossed. Today’s video show’s you how to heat emboss and also how to have the multiple colors on the image and cardstock.

- Crumb Cake: 4 7/8″ x 3 5/8″
- Shaded Spruce: 4 3/4″ x 3 1/2″

Thank you for your great video !
Great idea to look back through old catalogs for card ideas !
It’s a huge help! I hope you’ll give it a try when you’re feeling stuck for a layout idea!
I love this card. I have the stamp set, but going to miss seeing the cards you make with
it.
I know Pat! I promise I’ll have lots of fun and exciting projects with the new catalog though!
Thank You! Perfect timing. I needed to make a birthday card for my adult son and this was perfect! I love this technique and your easy to follow directions. Thanks again! I’m so glad I have this stamp set. I used it for my Christmas cards this year and now several ideas for birthday and thank you cards.
I’m thrilled to hear this landed in your inbox at the prefect time! Thanks for watching 🙂
I am finding it hard to think about retiring my Lovely as a tree. It was the first stamp I bought many years ago. I love using old catalogs for ideas, often stamps will come around again, not the same but the idea is the same. Thank you for showing this stamp in the older catalog. The oldest one I have is 2003 but there are still ideas there! Love your videos.
I’m glad you liked this post! It IS hard to say goodbye to this one but I know there will be others we fall in love with too!
