Card Making 201, Class 2

In this video class, I (Jackie, an experienced card maker) teach Jesi (my daughter, a beginner card maker) easy watercolor techniques that she can do to add a unique pop of color. We’re advancing on her skills learned in Card Making 101 to learn simple ways to step up her handmade cards. We hope that if you’re also a beginner card maker you can learn alongside Jesi and build your knowledge and confidence as she does.

There’s a lot more information shared in the video class than what’s written below. So make sure to give it a watch to learn everything you need to know to watercolor confidently!

Four Different Easy Watercolor Techniques

Watercolor may sound intimidating at first because you may be picturing big, beautiful, artistic creations. But we’re here to share with you easy watercolor techniques that anyone can do! Here are side-by-side comparisons of the four techniques we shared in the video class for an easy visual of the differences – which they all look great! I think when it comes to watercolor, it’s all personal preference for what you find easiest and what you like the look of most.

I don’t watercolor often, since my personal preference for coloring is to use Stampin’ Blends. But when I do watercolor, I typically reach for an ink pad and clear block with either the Blender Pen or Water Painter. For this card example, I chose to watercolor using my ink pad and Blender Pen.
