Card Making With Die Cuts

Sometimes I just like to play with paper and dies! Card making with die cuts can be a unique way to create cards and allow you to have fun being creative. The cards I am sharing today do not have any stamping on them – just layer die cuts!

We are using two different sets of dies, Patchwork Pieces and Wanted to Say. I think both of these are hidden gems in the catalog and many people don’t even know about them. Plus, they might look a little bit intimidating. Not any longer! I have a lot of tips to share with you today while I am card making with die cuts! Make sure to watch the whole video so you don’t miss any of the tips, or the samples I have to share.

These two cards were made the exact same, but using different Designer Series Papers. The top card is Inked Botanicals DSP and the bottom card is Masterfully Made DSP. You can see how you can get creative and play around with different looks!

Card Making With Die Cuts Video Tutorial

Are you ready to learn all my tips for card making with die cuts and how to layer die cuts? Let’s do this…

The products used in this video were available for purchase at the time of filming (the list is below.) If something does not show in the list, it is either retired or no longer available.

Measurements & Supplies

It is time to dig out your Designer Series Paper and create! I hope you try card making with die cuts, whether you use the ones I shared today or others. You can have a lot of fun with this!

Card making with die cuts, a handmade celebration card that doesn't include any stamping.

I started with two pieces of Basic White. They were each 4 3/4″ x 3 1/4″

The die cuts were adhered to one of them, and after adhering all the pieces, I trimmed the layer down. Once trimmed, it layered perfectly over the other piece of Basic White. Make sure to watch the video for tips to line everything up.

Then I just adhered to a normal-sized card base. This was actually the hardest part… because I couldn’t decide what color card base I liked best!!

Three handmade cards that were designed the same using Stampin' Up! Patchwork dies, but have different sentiments for different occasions using Stampin' Up! Wanted to Say Dies. These card making with die cut cards include no stamping, only layer die cuts.

For these projects, I die cut from three different pieces of Designer Series Paper. I mixed the pieces and was able to make three different cards at the same time!
