Card Making Challenge: Get Inspired To Join The Fun & Make Some Cards

My Klompen Stampers Demonstrator Teams loves to learn new stamping ideas, layouts, techniques…..and participate in fun card making challenges. Challenges force us out of our “stamping box” and get us thinking in different ways as we create.

Each month I try to have different types of challenges for my team to participate in. This time I thought I would share some of the great cards that they created when I gave them this card making challenge.

Everyone was given EXACT sizes of cardstock and Designer Series Paper to cut. They could use any colors/paper, but they had to cut exactly per the diagram for this card making challenge. Here is the diagram that I gave them.

If you would like to give this card making challenge a try, read the rules below and give it a try yourself. If you really want to be challenged, make your card before you check out what my team members came up with.

Card Making Challenge “Rules”

After cutting their cardstock and DSP per the diagram, they could NOT use any other pieces–just those they cut. They could cut them down and use however they wanted, they just could not bring in any more!

Other than that, they could use any stamps, inks, embellishments, dies, punches etc….

It was so fun to see all of their cards. Below are some of them for you to enjoy. It’s amazing that everyone started with the exact same size pieces and how different they each created with them.

I did not show them my card until after the challenge was over. I did not want them to copy–but rather think outside of the box.

Card Details

• Basic White Thick: 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″
• Granny Apple Green Designer Series Paper: 4″ x 5 1/4″
• White: 1 1/2″ x 5 1/4″ and 1 1/2″ x 1 1/2″
• Basic Black: 1 5/8″ x 5 3/8″ and 1 5/8″ x 1 5/8″

As you look back at the challenge cutting diagrams, you will see that my white and black pieces are a bit smaller. To participate in the challenge, we had to start with cutting to diagram sizes, but could then cut differently. I cut them down a little smaller.

This challenge was really all about my team. Most of my team members are HOBBY STAMPERS, so I try to do a lot of fun stamping things with them! We do things like stamping challenges, zoom stamping nights, virtual make-n-take days, quarterly retreats (online) and much more.
