We are having some fun stamping today making SIP cards! SIP is my favorite style of card making, because all you need is stamps, ink, and paper to create beautiful handmade cards. And today, we’re creating some bright and fun birthday cards that are perfect to give to everyone! Or if you do not need fun birthday cards, follow this tutorial and make fun thank you or thinking of you cards – just change up the greetings for whatever occasion you need a card for.
For this project, we are stamping with a SIP (Stamps, Ink, and Paper) using the Round We Go stamp set. I’m keeping the project beginner-friendly by using limited supplies. Then after we make the SIP cards I’ll share with you a few additional card ideas that are “stepped up”. They’re made by following the same stamping design, but “stepped up” by adding in a few additional supplies to create more layers and texture.
Fun Birthday Cards Video Tutorial
Join me in creating some quick cards using only stamps, ink, and paper! I also have some simple stamping tips to share with you for stamping off, which is how we get the two-toned color look of these pinwheels. And keep in mind… you can create these cards with any of your favorite color combinations!

Round We Go Card Details
In addition to my favorite SIP (Stamps, Ink, and Paper) style of card making, I love to create a stack of cards by following one simple layout. To do this I keep it simple by using Basic White Note Cards & Envelopes for my card base and stamp on one Basic White layer. The measurements of my layer are 3 1/4″ x 4 3/4″.
Make sure to watch my video tutorial to learn my simple tips for stamping off to get the two-toned color of the pinwheels!
In the video tutorial, I shared with you how to make the SIP cards and then showed you a few “stepped up” cards. It’s always fun to see side-by-sides of a SIP card and how you can completely change the look after adding in a few more products. For these first two stepped up fun birthday cards I added a Basic Black layer, dry embossed the stamped layer, and heat embossed the greeting. You can find my full supply list by following the link shared above.
If you’re just beginning your card making journey, you don’t need to do all of this! Keep it simple with a SIP, because they’re just as beautiful! But I still wanted to share with you how different techniques can change up your cards.
STEPPED UP CARD MEASUREMENTS:
- Basic White Card Base: 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
- Basic White: 3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″
- Basic Black: 3 5/8″ x 4 7/8″
And then these final two “stepped up” cards use the coordinating Round We Go Dies!
