Start to Make Cards With a SIP

My favorite way to teach people to make cards, or to help those that are struggling, is to just use a SIP – stamps, ink & paper. These are the basics to all cards. When start with the basics, you can then “step up” your cards by adding just a few more items and products.

For beginners, I recommend to select a stamp set that you like that also has several “greeting” stamps in it. You need those “words” and if you select a stamp set with images and greetings, you can get started with just that one!

In this beginners guide to card making, we are using these products. Remember, it’s just a SIP!

  • STAMPS – Art Gallery (+ clear blocks)
  • INK: Melon Mambo, Granny Apple Green, Memento Black
  • PAPER: Note Cards and Envelopes

It Is So Easy to Step It Up

You can see below how the simple SIP card can be stepped up so easily with just a little bit of additional card stock. First I added just a layer of Basic White and another of Basic Black. That is all I did for the 2nd card.

Then, for the third, I cut out the flower and “popped it up” using dimensionals, as well as added a little bow and a couple embellishments. Those simple additions really change the card, don’t you think?
