I am super excited about today’s post and it has been in the works for quite some time! So often I am asked, “where do I start?” Card making can be very overwhelming and confusing, but it does not have to be that way. If you start out with the right products, you will enjoy the experience and have everything you need to make cards. Seriously, DO NOT make the same mistakes I made 25 years ago. Make sure to watch my video to see what I am talking about!
Stamping & Card Making 101: Video Tutorial
Why are we calling this Stamping 101??? Well, there are several reasons….
- This post & video is a beginners guide to getting started with stamping & card making
- You will learn to make good decisions when purchasing products so you have things that work together
- The video is filled with tips for stamping, cleaning your stamps, and designing your handmade cards
- and more…. (you just have to watch the whole video!)
Stamping & Card Making 101: What You Need to Get Started
Selecting stamps can sometimes be overwhelming but it is the most fun part of selecting items you need. Make sure to watch my video to learn how I started and why it did not work. You don’t want to make those same mistakes.
Whether you are brand new to card making, or are just looking for a fun set for quick and easy cards, Butterfly Gala is the perfect stamp set. And don’t forget the coordinating punch.
Another tricky decision you will need to make is which inks to get.
You will want to make sure you get colors that will coordinate with the papers you select. I always recommend getting a few colors from the same color collection PLUS Black, and then building on that collection as you purchase more.
Make sure to scroll to the bottom of the post to see everything I used for today’s projects.
Once again, you want to make sure that you have coordinating products. I think the best purchase you can make is a package of the 6″ x 6″ Color Collection Designer Series Papers. Make sure to get the color group that goes with the colors you selected in ink pads–that way everything coordinates and you can mix and match everything together making it easy peasy!
Besides the Designer Series Paper, the White Notecards and Envelopes plus a package of Whisper White will give you everything you need to get well on your way to making some beautiful cards.
