Oh So Eclectic Is a Must Have Bundle

I finally took out the Oh So Eclectic Bundle that I have had for quite some time.  Wow, why had I not played with this set before?  It’s amazing and the possibilities are endless.

Oh So Eclectic Friendship Card

Here is the first card that I made.  Can you see the “embossed” leaves on top towards the left?  There are dies that both cut and emboss!

Color Combination

I wanted to keep my color scheme pretty simple so I grabbed just 3 stampin’ pads.  Emerald Envy, Berry Burst and Basic Black.  Why these colors?  Because I am so in love with the Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon!  When I sat down to play, I pulled the stampin’ pads that were the same colors as this ribbon so I knew I would be able to use the ribbons!  I think I really like the combination!  What do you think?

A Few Tips

  • Cut the flowers out of the Whisper White layer using the detailed die so that when you adhere to the Berry Burst layer you will see the color from below
  • Use the “embossing die” on the Whisper White Layer to make the leaves
  • Stamp (2) leaves and the 2 different flowers on a scrap of Whisper White and cut out with the dies.  For the flowers, I stamped the “bolder” image first, but stamped off onto scrap paper so that the color was lighter (2nd Generation Stamping)

Have a stamp happy day. Jackie Bolhuis, Stampin' Up! Demonstrator

What’s Jackie been up to??

I arrived back home to Michigan late Monday night and it’s been “catch up” time ever since.  I think I answered all questions, messages and emails by now.  If you left me any sort of message and have not heard back from me, please contact me again because I may have missed your message.

So, where was I?  I spent the last week in Sierra Vista, Arizona visiting my daughter and future son-in-law.  We have had a blast just hanging out and eating way too much!

I treasure every minute I get with my girls.  I hate that I live in Michigan, and they live in Arizona and Missouri.

Friends That Are Like Family!

The amazing thing is that no matter where my girls have ended up over the years, it seems as though I have a friend there to become their “mom.”  That is definitely one of the benefits of being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator!

Sharon and I have been friends for years, but now I get to “hang out” with her every time I go to visit my daughter. And she has been the perfect “mom” to Jesi.  She even got to meet and get to know her future husband before I did!  But, having married off 5 of her own kiddo’s, she was a great judge of character to constantly be sending me reports!

Arizona Fun with Sharon

Here is a picture of both of my girls and I on Thanksgiving at Sharon’s.  Her husband Mark makes the BEST TURKEYS!!!  I have never had a DEEP FRIED TURKEY before, but I tell ya…. it’s the only way I will ever eat it again!

One of the days was spent touring the Southern Arizona wineries.  We have toured a lot of the Michigan wineries and the ones in Arizona are SO different.  It’s very strange, but we have found we like the Arizona wines better than the Michigan wines!!!

  1. Just wanted to say you make the most gorgeous cards and I’m happy that you spent time with your family! I agree with the deep fried turkey…even though I live in Canada it’s the only way to eat turkey.
